SHI all over, When money doesn't matter: A class....less, future.

In the series of posts that I've written that concern the necessity to build a Self Healing Infrastructure using technology to enable humanity to pinch off the productivity loop I've gone on to examine a bit what happens to humanity socially in such a world.

I wrote a story of love post supermortility, the coming age where death by aging is no longer mandatory but is a choice. I've also written on how interactions between people will change as apparent "age" is decoupled from temporal age, what I've dubbed the coming age of oscillating senescence. When a 200 year old looks no older than a 28 year old different cognitive dynamics of interaction are possible between people of vastly different levels of wisdom and these will effect society in unknown but I think ultimately interesting ways.

Another reality under the age of SHI will come as Love, often claimed to be lasting "until death do us part" actually escapes the boundary of mortal death events the true value of the emotional connection defined by the word will changed. I wrote about this in my post Loves New Meaning.

A further reality though in such a world where the SHI provides all our needs and goes further to satisfy the bulk of our wants it is interesting to think about how present distinctions of class, defined mostly around access to liquid capital that facilitate those differences will change radically.

Some aspects of class will remain but the relative percentages will shift, the poor classes will simply disappear as the SHI will provide basic and beyond basic needs to arbitrary desire for almost all. A portion of "poor" still will exist however as some will chose to eschew the blessings of the SHI fabric in lieu of living "naturally" such individuals exist in society today and there is no reason to think that this philosophy will be made obsolete once SHI is in place.

Another class are the people who by virtue of mental illness inhabit the poor class state, these people will find them in the state by virtue of their pathology.

Toward the middle of the class pie the low to upper middle classes will normalize to a common affluence as people satisfy their personal needs and wants via the optimal production of the SHI, this "class" will mostly consume the poor as mentioned previously save for the mentioned exceptions on the high end a similar persistence may likely exist.

The desire for human beings to socially challenge one another for position in relationships or politics will continue to find a sector of the affluent unsatisfied with just having the ability to be at parity with others. The desire to be perceived as "better" for the reasons mentioned will still assert and in a way drive the seeking of more distinction markers of a separate class.

As the vast middle consumes the bottom and top into a consensus of affluence across society the mixing of social, ethnic and religious DNA between what were formerly distinct classes will be *accelerated* to yet unseen levels. These effects will be very good toward the mollification of xenophobia and radical entrenchment that threatens our very survival to this day. This thus presents itself another critically important consequence of the formation of the Self Healing Infrastructure.

As the US economy continues to suffer the doldrums of stagnant investment in many industries, belt tightening budgets in many of the largest cities and continuous rounds of lay offs at some of the oldest of corporations, it is little comfort to those suffering through economic problems that what is happening now, has happened before. True, the severity of the downturn might have been different but the common factors of people and businesses being forced to do more with less is the theme of the times. Like environmental shocks to an ecosystem, stresses to the economic system lead to people hunkering down to last the storm, but it is instructive to realize that during the storm, all that idle time in the shelter affords people the ability to solve previous or existing problems. Likewise, economic downturns enable enterprising individuals and corporations the ability to make bold decisions with regard to marketing , sales or product focus that can lead to incredible gains as the economic

How many cofactors for inducing expression of every cell type?

Another revolution in iPSC technology announced: "Also known as iPS cells, these cells can become virtually any cell type in the human body -- just like embryonic stem cells. Then last year, Gladstone Senior Investigator Sheng Ding, PhD, announced that he had used a combination of small molecules and genetic factors to transform skin cells directly into neural stem cells. Today, Dr. Huang takes a new tack by using one genetic factor -- Sox2 -- to directly reprogram one cell type into another without reverting to the pluripotent state." -- So the method invented by Yamanaka is now refined to rely only 1 cofactor and b) directly generate the target cell type from the source cell type (skin to neuron) without the stem like intermediate stage.  It also mentions that oncogenic triggering was eliminated in their testing. Now comparative methods can be used to discover other types...the question is..is Sox2 critical for all types? It may be that skin to neuron relies on Sox2

AgilEntity Architecture: Action Oriented Workflow

Permissions, fine grained versus management headache The usual method for determining which users can perform a given function on a given object in a managed system, employs providing those Users with specific access rights via the use of permissions. Often these permissions are also able to be granted to collections called Groups, to which Users are added. The combination of Permissions and Groups provides the ability to provide as atomic a dissemination of rights across the User space as possible. However, this granularity comes at the price of reduced efficiency for managing the created permissions and more importantly the Groups that collect Users designated to perform sets of actions. Essentially the Groups serve as access control lists in many systems, which for the variable and often changing environment of business applications means a need to constantly update the ACL’s (groups) in order to add or remove individuals based on their ability to perform cert
