IBM has finally realized the importance of real time collaboration to their venerable Notes collaboration suite. They've added a new module to enable public/private chats (they call it "extranet collaboration") to be enabled by business Users. This is something that I saw as a target to add to my platform years ago, nice to see confirmation of its usefulness in the IBM product. However, just adding chat to an existing hodgepodge of features as provided by Notes does not mean that it will be synergistic with those other features, that depends on how integrated the design is with what was there. Time will tell how successful this is for IBM's product. Check out the info blurb at CNET. http://news.cnet.com/8301-10787_3-10208651-60.html?tag=mncol;title
A chronicle of the things I find interesting or deeply important. Exploring generally 4 pillars of intense research. Dynamic Cognition (what every one else calls AI), Self Healing Infrastructures (how to build technological Utopia), Autonomous work routing and Action Oriented Workflow (sending work to the worker) and Supermortality (how to live...to arbitrarily long life spans by ending the disease of aging to death.)
